Visa Regulations

Types of Pilgrimage Visas

  • Hajj Visa: Specific to Hajj season; valid for specific dates
  • Umrah Visa: Available year-round except during Hajj season
  • Tourist Visa: Some tourists visas allow Umrah but not Hajj

Visa Rules

  • Visas are non-extendable beyond their validity period

Ihram Rules

For Men

  • Wear two unstitched white cloths
  • Cover the body from navel to knees with one cloth; drape the other over shoulders

  • Cannot use scented products

For Women

  • Wear modest, loose-fitting clothing

Prohibitions in Ihram

  • Hunting or killing animals
  • Cutting hair or nails
  • Using perfume or scented products
  • Sexual relations
  • Marriage proposals or contracts
  • Covering the head (men) or face (women) completely

Behavior in the Haram

General Conduct

  • Maintain quiet, respectful demeanor
  • No shouting or loud conversations
  • No photography of other worshippers without permission
  • No eating or drinking in prayer areas (except Zamzam water)
  • Follow designated walkways and exits

Prohibited Items

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Alcohol and drugs
  • Non-Islamic religious materials for distribution
  • Large bags or suitcases (use lockers outside)
  • Drones (strictly prohibited)

Tawaf and Sa'i

  • Move in the direction of the crowd (counter-clockwise for Tawaf)
  • Do not push or shove
  • Keep moving; do not stop in flow areas
  • Elderly and disabled should use designated areas or wheelchairs
